Meta is looking for an experienced Privacy and Data Policy Manager with expertise in privacy and technology policy issues to join our Privacy and Data Policy team and help us build products, services, and technologies that promote the best interests of our users. The team's mission is to develop privacy-protective and innovative approaches to data and our services that help bring the world closer together and improve people's lives. In this role, you'll help shape the company's approach to privacy across our suite of products and services.You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, external stakeholders, and cross-functional partners across the company to build privacy and fairness into our products and services. You'll serve as a subject matter expert for Meta’s global policy team on Meta's products and work with our teams to evaluate and respond to legislative and regulatory developments, and to engage with external experts on privacy and fairness around the world.A strong candidate will be familiar with privacy and fairness issues related to social media platforms and messaging services. You should be a self-starter, a team player, and a creative problem solver who is able to switch easily between detailed work and high-level strategic thinking. You should also have an understanding of and familiarity with the stakeholders and perspectives in the privacy community and be able to use your knowledge to promote privacy and fairness in Meta's products and services, and drive improvements across the industry.
Privacy Policy Manager Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and provide guidance on the privacy and fairness implications of products, services, and features

Work with developers, designers, lawyers, product managers, and others to help interdisciplinary teams build creative solutions to policy, legal, engineering, user interface, business, marketing and other privacy challenges

Serve as a representative of Meta regarding privacy issues in external meetings and conferences

Analyze legislative and regulatory proposals and global trends concerning privacy, data security, fairness, and other technology issues

Consult with external privacy experts and other policy stakeholders on how best to ensure that Meta handles data and builds products responsibly
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

6 years of experience with privacy, data security, or technology policy issues (4 years with advanced degree in relevant field)

Experience counseling and advising on privacy, data security, or other technology policy issues
Preferred Qualifications:

JD or Master’s degree or equivalent that included study of tech policy related issues

Experience with privacy or technology policy issues

Experience working directly with senior business executives

Working familiarity with privacy legislative frameworks

Experience with creating policy analysis and public presentations

Experience planning and executing cross-functional initiatives
