Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Printer conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Printer completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Printer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Description
Run digital latex printers that print on a variety of medias such as pressure sensitive vinyl, banners, window decals, etc. Will need to have an eye for color and an understanding of basic color theory. Must be computer literate to run equipment, log time, view worksheets and move items within project management software. Use RIP software to process files to printers. Load and unload print media. Must be professional, fast learner and team player.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain digital printers.
Follow worksheets to accurately print a variety of graphics on various medias.
Ensure proper proofing and color matching.
Promptly report any defects or quality issues.
Prioritize jobs based on due dates along with other departments’ process needs.
Perform routine maintenance along with placing service calls and troubleshooting when equipment failures occur.
Maintain inventory of equipment consumables and print substrates.
Overtime is required when necessary to meet customer demands.
