Position Summary

The Service Technician II is a mid level mechanic that performs work on gas compression equipment components and instruments (e.g., pumps, controllers, valves, etc) at shop location. Performs other tasks as needed or requested.
Responsibilities:
• Knows standard operating procedures relative to gas compressor maintenance and repair
• Gaining proficiency to accurately and efficiently diagnose mechanical problems
• Replaces and overhaul small compressors, checking bearings, crankshaft, etc.
• Disassembles gas compressor parts and equipment
• Cleans gas compressor parts and equipment
• Reassembles parts (assistance may be required)
• Gaining engine repair proficiency
• Works under general supervision, can complete basic tasks without direction
• Responsibilities include responding to emergency maintenance calls as required
• Dedicated to customer service and maintains professional working relationships with customers and co-workers
• Communicates with customers and supervisor to ensure schedules for maintenance of equipment are kept
• Responsible for submitting accurate, timely maintenance reports and other necessary paperwork
• Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are kept clean and presentable
• Adheres to all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Engine and Compressor Schools/Training preferred
• 3 years’ experience working on natural gas compressors or equivalent mechanical experience.
• Knowledge and experience on compression, process and production equipment, as well as electrical systems, including panel boards, skid wiring, etc.
• Basic computer skills and ability to be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Possess valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
• Ability to provide own hand tools up to 1 1/4"
Work Environment:
• Required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds
• Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed
• Regularly asked to climb in and around equipment, stairs and slanted ladders
• Must be willing to drive as required.
