Mood Fabrics is seeking an experienced Fashion Sewist to join our creative team and contribute to the execution of our original, fashion-forward patterns. The sewist will play a crucial role in translating pattern designs into high-quality garments while collaborating closely with our Mood Sewciety blog team and pattern makers.
With a deep understanding of fabrics, sewing, pattern comprehension, and garment construction techniques, the ideal candidate will ensure that each garment meets our standards of excellence. Communication with our pattern makers will be essential to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the construction process.
In addition to sewing garments, the Fashion Sewist will share their expertise by describing the overall construction process clearly from start to finish, keeping the instructions clear and beginner-friendly for our blog readers to effectively follow along and complete their sewing project. Responding to public inquiries regarding garment construction, materials, techniques, and general questions is essential to the role as well.
The right candidate must be confident enough in their sewing skills and experience to sew an unmarked pattern without instructions—a key part of fine tuning our custom pattern process. The ideal candidate also has a demonstrated background in home sewing for personal projects or costuming, and a keen eye for detail.
