Converting Production Manager

Size of area of responsibility

Responsible for managing the converting activities departments within the plant.

You will oversee the production process and coordinates all activities to ensure enough resources on hand and targets are meet.

Knowledge & Skills

1. Business – Complete understanding the manufacturing function.

1. Functional – understands principles and concepts in own function. This position must be a specialist in converting operations through extensive experience and education.

People Responsibilities

The incumbent will have full supervisory/leadership responsibilities for the people in the converting area.  

Directly managed: 2 production supervisors and 1 process engineer

Indirectly managed: ______

Freedom to Act

Impacts all work activities in the converting functions.  The incumbent will provide direction and guidance to the supervisors in the converting areas. He will consult frequently and often with the MGM Plant Manager on all decisions related to the achievement of the facilities objectives and goals. 

Complexity

Based on factual information analysis, the incumbent will make judgements in concert with the MGM Plant Manager on how to achieve budgeted targets. Decisions require attention to detail and careful analysis of production metrics.

Impact on Business Results

This position will have significant impact of the MM Plant in terms of business results and ultimately on the customer via providing a product that meets internal and external requirements.

Involvement in Business Planning/ Budget

Contributes to the end results through sharing responsibility for setting and managing departmental budgets.

Communication

The incumbent must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Further, this position will interface with various levels of management and extensively with the production operators. Accordingly, the incumbent must be able to exercise diplomacy and tact while simultaneously directing and leading the production activities in the converting area.
