TMC Technologies is in immediate need of an Print Systems Engineer to support our federal client. The candidate will be responsible for consulting with teams of information technology specialists to automate and streamline the delivery of print services and devices to various locations. Responsible for migrating existing print system infrastructure consisting of approximately 6000 devices to newer operating systems, firmware, and application versions where appropriate. Responsible for leveraging pre-existing and funded systems to identify areas of improvement and opportunities to right-size the number of systems needed to support customers' needs. Responsible for utilizing appropriate change-management techniques to implement any system changes including the documentation of said changes and providing updated training materials to customers and information technology specialists where their processes may be altered based on any changes. The candidate must be a US citizen and possess an active Top Secret clearance to start due to federal contract requirements. Duties of the Print Systems Engineer include the following:
- Responsible for engineering and configuring print systems between various classification levels and ensuring security of printers and associated systems to include print servers, printer security software, printer back-end software, and firmware.
- Proactively address performance and anticipated user requirements.
- Provide hands on experience in implementing and supporting commercially available document management software and hardware configuration suites from leading printer vendors hosted on Windows Server platforms and utilizing SQL server instances.
- Configure print services for redundancy and fail over capability as well as ensure backups and recovery of the print services configuration and back-end infrastructure.
- Able to understand typical printer deployment issues and troubleshoot installs of applications and determine if issue is hardware or software related and resolve issue by either implementing fixes or guiding customers through problem resolution.
- Set up systems and provide post implementation support, user guidance or training and maintenance.
- Responsible for ensuring that the client’s performance, security, user experience, reliability, availability, and all other functional and non-functional requirements are met.
- Maintain and update system documentation.
- Assist with system accreditation and monitoring.
- Provide timely problem resolution.
- Track all system inventory and update documentation of any configuration changes.
- Troubleshoot, respond, and resolve Tier 3 and Tier 4 tickets related to print devices, back-end print infrastructure, security patching, and configuration.
