Print Production Manager oversees the competitive bid and negotiation process with vendors and suppliers that perform print jobs for direct mail, seasonal promotions, sales collateral, and other printed media. Approves print production priorities and schedules, print specifications, and budgets. Being a Print Production Manager advises internal clients on printing projects and recommends cost effective options. Grants final approval on all artwork, copy, formats, mock-ups, and proofs. Additionally, Print Production Manager manages relations with vendors and internal clients. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Print Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     POSITION SUMMARY

    This role needs to be an expert in packaging graphics execution, color management, able to read proofs, take client feedback, and collaborate with printers.Their day-to-day responsibilities include managing the overall prepress timeline and working proactively to help solve printing and prepress challenges, and engage in customer issues with proof to press match. This position will work directly with client and key operations team to help drive and maintain standardization, centralization across the business.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist the Packaging assistant in activities involving design agencies, prepress agencies, printers, and internal files.
    • Facilitates inputs required for the creative development with brand design agencies for packaging design projects on time and within the brand's budget from category audit through initial design concept to handoff to agency partners.
    • Monitors production art development from agency handoff through & including final materials to client.
    • Coordinates project kickoffs, follow-ups, distribution, and internal archiving.
    • Verify and analyze technical data related to packagingdesign projects and sustainability data collections
    • Coordinate and supervise corrections and modifications to packaging files with the team, ensuring graphic reproduction quality before printing.
    • Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to have a positive impact on the company.
    • Manages every portion of the approval process between internal and external partners, ensures alignment at every step of the design and activation process.
    • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
    • Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
    • Additional duties as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
    • 6 years progressive print production experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 3 years in a leadership role (direct or indirect). Prior managerial/supervisory experience preferred
    • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
    • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
    • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
    • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
    • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
    • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
    • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
    • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
