Print Production Manager oversees the competitive bid and negotiation process with vendors and suppliers that perform print jobs for direct mail, seasonal promotions, sales collateral, and other printed media. Approves print production priorities and schedules, print specifications, and budgets. Being a Print Production Manager advises internal clients on printing projects and recommends cost effective options. Grants final approval on all artwork, copy, formats, mock-ups, and proofs. Additionally, Print Production Manager manages relations with vendors and internal clients. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Print Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Print Production Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsibilities include:
P&L Statement
Tracking production daily
Providing the owner with daily reports
Operating printing press to manually print shirts
Reviewing work order and counting your shirts in.
Burning screens, cleaning, exposing/shooting and reclaiming screens
Setting up screens with super tight registration for max 8 color press
Mixing Inks to PMS #s
Knowledge of:
Screen Printing
Plastisol inks
RIP Software to print films
Screen Printing Pressure
Half Tones and Mesh #s
Embroidery
Heat Press Work
Bonus knowledge of coreldraw, adobe photoshop and illustrator would be greatly noticed
Must be organized and detailed in your work
Must keep station clean
Must know how to fold and pack shirts neatly
Must be a team plater to advance the team and business further.
