Print Production Manager oversees the competitive bid and negotiation process with vendors and suppliers that perform print jobs for direct mail, seasonal promotions, sales collateral, and other printed media. Approves print production priorities and schedules, print specifications, and budgets. Being a Print Production Manager advises internal clients on printing projects and recommends cost effective options. Grants final approval on all artwork, copy, formats, mock-ups, and proofs. Additionally, Print Production Manager manages relations with vendors and internal clients. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. Qualifications
5 years’ experience in print production or related field is required.
High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
Possess the ability to utilize our production program on our network system.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
Detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking with strong organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of print techniques and finishing processes.
Capable and willing to work extended hours as needed.
Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
Manage production process, including pre-press preparation, printing and quality control.
Schedule and prioritize jobs to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines.
Collaborate with team members to discuss job specifications, offer technical advice and address any concerns or questions.
Implement best practices and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency within the production process.
Manage inventory levels of printing materials, inks and other supplies.
Place orders for necessary materials and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
Troubleshoot equipment issues, diagnose problems and make informed decisions in a timely manner. Coordinate with technical vendors for necessary repairs or maintenance.
Hire, train, coach and manage production staff.
Demonstrate and maintain a helpful positive work culture.
