Being an Principal Architect has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts. Ensures architectural designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards. Additionally, Principal Architect keeps up to date on the development of new architectural methods or techniques. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Requires a State Architect's License. Typically reports to a director. The Principal Architect typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. As a member of the Principal Enterprise Architecture team, this individual will be responsible for leading the development of architecture planning and technology strategy for Enterprise Information Security & Risk platforms. These enterprise platforms are used to protect Principal and its employees, partners, and customers from damaging acts and advance our digital transformation strategies.
The Information Security & Risk Enterprise Platform Architect will actively collaborate with Technology Platform Owners, Product Managers, and key stakeholders to ensure Principal’s Information Security & Risk solutions are successfully designed, developed, deployed, and operated. In addition to the development of strategic architectures. The Enterprise Architect will be a champion for information security & risk best practices, education, advanced topics research, and mentorship across the company!
This is an exciting hands-on (individual contributor) position with responsibility for setting architectural direction and seeing the direction through to high-quality solution deployments!
