POSITION TITLE: PRINCIPALS SECRETARY
LOCATION: FRANKLIN MIDDLE SCHOOL

DAYS: Ten month employment
SALARY SCHEDULE: $17.02 per hour.
START DATE: As soon as possible.
JOB SUMMARY: The duties and responsibilities will be to assist the Principal and Assistant Principal at Alameda Middle School, the principal function of the job at all schools is similar; to
perform a variety of administrative, secretarial, financial and clerical duties as the secretary for a school. The Principal's Secretary serves as the staff liaison for the
Principal. Duties include reporting school payroll, balancing budgets, managing the substitute system, organizing meetings, and preparing correspondence, reports
and other documents. They also include bookkeeping, attendance and purchasing functions. The Principal's Secretary maintains smooth office operations in the
absence of the Principal. Duties may also include public relations, entering data into school or department systems and applications, keeping clerical records, logs,
ledgers and related documents and working with District and department specified processes and procedures. The work is performed under the supervision of a school
Principal. Lead work or supervision may be exercised over Instructional paraprofessionals and/or volunteers. The principal duties of this class are performed in an
office environment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Advanced business or office administration training is preferred. Two years experience in performing office administrative
duties; Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary
to perform the work. Must be able to type 45 words per minute.

BE TAKEN AT THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR - 430 NORTH FIFTH. YOU MUST HAVE 45 WPM WITH AN AVERAGE ACTUAL NET ACCURACY OF 90%. Skills tests
are required for ALL finalists. All other applicants must apply on line through Frontline Application Process - External.
BENEFITS INFORMATION: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Public Employees Retirement are available to Classified employees who work at least half time (20 hours per week) or
more in a regular position and to Certified employees with a .50 FTE or greater contract.
