Job Title: Editorial Assistant

Location: New Orleans

Gambit, New Orleans multi-platform culture, entertainment, and news publication, is seeking an Editorial Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and organizational skills with eagerness to assist in making sure projects, initiatives and deadlines are fulfilled.

This is a hybrid administrative and editorial position. In this role, you would work with the Editor in planning and organizing special issues and initiatives.

Duties will include:

• Posting to social media
• Processing freelance payments
• Working with the Editor as Project Manager for the Big Easy Entertainment Awards, Best of New Orleans Readers Poll and 40 Under 40
• Providing additional administrative assistance including proofing and copyediting
• Writing short spot news items on breaking events, concert announcements etc.
• Contributing to dining guides and festival issues.
• Duties would also include the ability to work on longer form stories and additional other tasks as assigned based on opportunities and special events | projects.
