Press Operator - All Widths completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Press Operator - All Widths conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Press Operator - All Widths completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. - Understand jobs, tags, storage, and electronical logging.
- Read and interpret most blueprints.
- Understands all pieces of equipment in press area including presses, insertion equipment, finishing equipment, insertion equipment, and spot-welding equipment.
- Run any programmed job, correctly inspect the first part, and set up the job.
- Establish inspection and basic tooling from the tooling list.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE:- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Vocational or Trade School preferred
- 3 to 5 years of Brake press experience preferred
- Forklift certification required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work with others to complete tasks or work individually.
- Proficient reading skills for tape measures, caliper, and other measuring tools
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Lift, carry, push, and or pull 1- 50 lbs. frequently.
- Regularly sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
- Work in a fast-paced industrial environment while wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing
WORK ENVIRONMENT- Normal work hours with occasional optional as well as mandatory overtime necessary to meet deadlines
- Normal office and manufacturing plant environment which may include exposure to dust, industrial solvents, liquids and other materials.
- The working environment will extend to both hot and cold conditions
