Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments and grinding machines for grinding angles, contours, lines, and spheres on to surfaces. Being a Precision Grinder requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Precision Grinder works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. - Set up and operate grinding machines to grind metal workpieces according to specifications
- Select appropriate grinding wheels, belts, or stones based on the material being worked on
- Inspect finished parts for quality and make any necessary adjustments or repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Operate forklift
- Previous experience operating grinding machines or similar equipment a plus
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of machine programming

- Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
