Precision Grinder operates precision grinding machines to assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments and grinding machines for grinding angles, contours, lines, and spheres on to surfaces. Being a Precision Grinder requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Precision Grinder works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. They have a working knowledge of the various chemical methods related to processing detailed aerospace components. This position requires an understanding of basic analytical chemistry techniques and customer requirements as they relate to periodic testing and quality assurance.
