Monitors energy levels and reports needs or excesses and conducts market analysis to identify fluctuations in cost and availability of power sources. OminOn Power currently has an opening for a journeyman electrician in the Southeast region.
The preferred locations for this role are Columbia or Greenville, South Carolina.
Role Responsibilities
Installation of electrical frameworks, and detection and correction of faults in existing electrical systems.
Always carry standard equipment and parts.
Perform inspections, conduct assessments, and work with customers to determine issues warranting attention.
Perform installation and restoration work on electrical frameworks.
Communicate with customers, perform own inspections to diagnose and tend to each task.
Work under minimal supervision.
Critical thinker with experience in all facets of electrical work.
Commitment to continuous learning and ability to mentor apprentices on team.
Ability to choose most apt course of action for project constraints.
Select, install, preserve functionality of wires, plugs, panelboards, switchgear, and switchboards.
Set up and maintain electrical machines.
Monitor inventory to ensure adequate stock.
Log time and resources spent on each task to calculate costs.
Adhere to all relevant safety regulations.
Acts as company qualifier for electrical contractor licenses in multiple states.
Install and service industrial equipment, including DC power systems
Supervise internal/subcontractor teams installing or servicing industrial equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
Completion of a relevant apprenticeship
Valid state license permitting practicing as journeyman electrician.
Four years of experience as a journeyman electrician
Ability and willingness to maintain a valid driver’s license.
Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word
Ability and willingness to travel 100% of the time with overnight stays.
Ability and willingness to obtain Electrical Contractor Qualifier Licenses or reciprocity in multiple states as required for OmniOn Power.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university
Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
Strong customer service mindset
Prior field engineering experience
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Strong project management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in telco, data center or other critical power facilities
