Power Scheduler develops and maintains daily, weekly and monthly schedules for power generation, storage, and wheeling. Monitors and coordinates generation and interchange according to contracts and pooling arrangements. Being a Power Scheduler schedules all power purchases and sales with other utilities. Maintains logs documenting all relevant operating information, problems and issues. Additionally, Power Scheduler requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Power Scheduler occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Scheduler opportunity to support our customer at the WIPP Facility outside of Carlsbad, NM.

    Per diem is available for those who qualify.
    Work location is on-site at WIPP

    The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.

    The successful candidate will provide assistance in the development and maintenance of integrated, resource loaded schedules utilizing fundamental critical path method techniques. Must possess the experience necessary to provide direct assistance to develop and maintain project schedules for M&O Operations, General Plant Project and Capital Projects. Duties include but are not limited to:
    • Day to day utilization of Primavera P-6 to perform schedule development and schedule studies within a network environment.
    • Develop ad hoc reports and scenarios to support program objectives.
    • Analyze schedule data for baseline change control, variance analysis, horizontal and vertical coordination, and integration of schedule logic.
    • Align baseline activities with daily implementation activities.
    • Coordinate changes to project baseline cost and schedule documents.
    • Analyze a variety of cost and schedule information and resolve related problems.
    • Meet with on-site technical experts, review existing documentation, and interface with personnel to gain the specific information needed to establish, status and analyze project schedules.
    • Mentor on-site technical experts, as necessary, to gain the required information for project schedules.
    • Good communication skills to extract/convey information and hold critical conversations
    Exempt Salary Grade (28-32)

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree with three (3) years of relevant experience, or
    • Associate’s Degree plus seven (7) years of relevant experience, or
    • High School Diploma or Equivalency with eleven (11) years of relevant experience is required.
    • Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be US Citizens.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Preference given to candidates with working knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems and DOE Order 413.3B.
    • The ideal candidate will have experience in the development and maintenance of integrated resource loaded schedules for operational readiness activities.
    • Expert proficiency using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft (MS) Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Access) is preferred.
    • Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
