Coal Equipment Operator

Red Hills Power Plant: Ackerman, MS

JOB SUMMARY

As a Coal Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for inspecting, operating and monitoring coal conveyor systems; fuel transfer and supply lines and associated equipment; collect and prepare fuel samples; prepare and complete documentation for these procedures. The Coal Equipment Operator also operates the Limestone Drying Process Equipment at the plant and will perform other operations & maintenance duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements

• High School or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles.

• Some knowledge of power plant principles preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Basic mechanical aptitude.

• Knowledge of hand tools.

• Ability to take instructions / directions and translate into actions.

• Math / calculation skills.

• Ability to read, understand and follow procedures, rules and regulations.

Other Requirements

• This job requires shift work and overtime.

• Must be available to respond to call-outs seven days per week.

• Perform physical activities while wearing respiratory equipment.

• Perform physical work activities in a power plant environment.
