Summary:
Strata Solar Services is a leading photovoltaic and battery storage system Operations & Maintenance provider in the United States and continues to grow, which has created a need for a Manager, Power Plant Operations. This individual serves as an advisor and coordinator to the Power Plant District Managers and reports directly to the Director of Power Plant Maintenance. The responsibilities of the position include ensuring the project supervision is trained and adhering to company standards and consistent service delivery. The Manager of Power Plant Operations acts as the coordination point of contact for all power plant maintenance activities for numerous solar power generation plants and portfolios. While the primary focus will be to ensure preventative, corrective, and scheduled maintenance activities are performed safely per contractual and company standards, the manager will also coordinate work within the various departments to ensure power performance meets or exceeds contractual requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs to ensure system reliability and longevity.• Provide guidance, planning support, and training to ensure a high level of performance and adherence to safety protocols.• Monitor scheduled, unscheduled, and planned plant maintenance activities performed by both plant maintenance field teams and subcontractors with the objective of optimizing plant performance and plant operating efficiency.• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to operations, maintenance, and performance metrics.• Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.• Develop strategies to optimize system performance, maximize efficiency, and minimize downtime.• Work with Field Supervisors and Technicians to address operational issues promptly, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems.• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and technological advancements to enhance overall system efficiency and effectiveness.• Collaborate with procurement to coordinate suppliers, vendors, and contractors to purchase necessary equipment, parts, and services required for maintenance and operations.• Evaluate individual and plant activities and implement corrective actions as required.• Assist in preparation of cost estimates and proposals.• Collaborate with other Operations and Maintenance Solar Divisions• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements pertaining to energy solar power plant and storage operations in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and Strata Solar O&M safety policies and procedures during the performance of facilities management activities.• Ensure plant staff has completed required and recommended safety and functional training prior to performing tasks.• Assist PPM management team in completion and submission of all inspections and testing data provided by assigned field personnel.• Assist Director of Maintenance with administrative tasks as needed.• Assist Managers and supervisors with materials, inventory, fleet vehicles, technicians, and maintenance requirements, to achieve service level targets for system repairs and production.• Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Help manage a team of District Managers with a focus on pre task planning, outage response, scheduling regular maintenance activities, DC health corrective maintenance and repairs to ensure system reliability and longevity.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Minimum Five (5) years’ experience as functional lead/supervisor of plant maintenance operations.• Minimum three (3) years of experience working with PV power generation systems in a capacity that may include design, installation, operation, maintenance, or any combination thereof.• Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. • Clear understanding of safe workplace practices and procedures. • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.• Must be able to travel occasionally to remote project sites.• Ability to operate in a manner consistent with organizational policies, procedures, and vision. • Ability to communicate with peers, supervisor, and all other individuals both effectively and respectfully within and outside of the organization. • Proficiency with MS Office applications to include but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, and SharePoint, as well as various industry-related software platforms.• Experience making and/or recommending business decisions that are safe, financially responsible, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
• Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be able to travel occasionally to remote project sites.• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a shift.• Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend.
