Power Plant Operations Manager manages and oversees the daily operations of a power generation plant. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Power Plant Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Power Plant Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Power Plant Operations Specialist, Maintenance (Full Time)

  • Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to operation, repair and maintenance of all equipment related to the Power Plant and Laundry operations. Boilers, pumps, hot water heaters, condensate systems, cooling towers, emergency generators, water softeners, commercial washers, dryers and folders are among the multitude of equipment this position is responsible for. Resonsible for training of Maintenance Mechanics on power plant equipment operations on a scheduled basis. This will ensure the proper operation of the Power Plant when the Power Plant Operations specialist is unavailable. Also provides training for in house and outside personell, as approved, for boiler licensing requirements.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Works in collaboration with other mechanics to insure proper operation of multiple boiler systems, deaerators and associated equipment throughout the organization. To include all daily operation, chemical testing, annual teardown, clean up and repairs for required regulatory inspections.

    Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Engineering Department.

    Assists HVAC staff in maintaining and repairing controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.

    Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required.

    As required, maintainins switchgear and emergency generator systems. Inspects and tests generator systems, including UPS flywheel system to include all monthly, quarterly and annual requirements.

    Performs preventive maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.

    Assists in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.

    Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.

    Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material).

    Reads blueprints, interprets instructions and prepares specifications.

    Works day, evening or night shift as assigned.

    Ability to do work on his/her own with only normal supervision.

    Ability to work well on his/her own and to inspect facilities and equipment.

    A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.

    A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.

    Knowledge and observance of safety precautions.

    Participates in performance improvement and information management activities.

    Demonstrates knowledge and is able to identify each patient's age-specific needs to promote a safe environment needed by the patient group.

    Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.

    Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

    Professional Requirements:

    Complies with Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines.

    Education/Experience Requirements:

    High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); or three to six (3-6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 rd Class Boilers License required.

    12 Months experience operating and maintaining a comparable plant.

    12 months experience operating and maintaining commercial laundry equipment.
