Power Plant Operations Manager manages and oversees the daily operations of a power generation plant.   • Summary/Objective

    As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of a manufacturing plant with approximately 100 employees. This role involves overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, and personnel management. You will report directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain and you will lead a team of 5-6 direct reports to ensure the plant's performance aligns with company goals and objectives.

    Essential Functions

    1. Directs and manages plant operations for safety, production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
    2. Coordinates plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    3. Manages all aspects of plant safety, security and environmental compliance including consistently administering company rules, regulations, and policies.
    4. Develops and controls profits, plans and budget.
    5. Implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
    6. Manages capital asset maintenance.
    7. Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
    8. Establishes a continuous improvement culture to continuously improve our performance on safety, efficiency, quality, and costs.
    9. Initiates and manages capex projects.
    10. Initiates and manages improvement projects in the plant.
    11. Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
    12. Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
    13. Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
    14. Provides direction, development, leadership, and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
    15. Manages the operation and compliance of wastewater facility in coordination with Environmental Manager.
    16. Establishes an open, honest, and respectful working environment in the plant.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has five direct reports – Environmental Manager, Plant Engineer, Plant Superintendent, Plant Technical Services Manager, and Scheduling & Shipping Manager.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust, and some chemicals, and moving mechanical parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and non-skid shoes.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This may be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, kneel and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, with various hours. This position regularly requires long hours and some weekend work.

    Travel

    This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently travel is within the local area to other plants.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. College degree in textiles, engineering, or business administration
    2. Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in Manufacturing.
    3. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
    4. Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and financial analysis.
    5. Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Proven experience with LEAN management
    2. Experience in Textile manufacturing
