Job Summary:
Work with Vice President Government and Industry Affairs (GIA) in federal government affairs activities for the Livestock Marketing Association (LMA). Help develop and execute the strategy for state legislative and regulatory issues, interfacing with Region Executive Officers. Strong preference for Kansas City area with remote or hybrid options available depending on circumstances
Duties:
Contribute to Federal Government and Industry Affairs efforts
Contribute to State Government and Industry Affairs efforts
Represent LMA at meetings, including United States Animal Health Association, National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, and state LMA affiliate meetings.
Contribute to the planning and execution of LMA D.C. Fly In events and other GIA meetings.
Develop and execute grassroots advocacy plan engaging LMA members with officials.
Expand efforts to connect LMA members with their elected leaders through market visits and action alerts.
Manage fundraising and reporting for LMA Political Action Committee.
Expand LMA member education efforts.
