Established in 1954, Springfield Swimming Club is located in Fairfax County, VA - in the heart of Springfield in the Crestwood neighborhood. The closest elementary schools include Crestwood, Lynbrook, and Garfield. Our aquatic facilities consist of three separate pools - a baby/wading pool, an intermediate pool (approx 3.5 ft deep), and a large pool with two 1m diving boards on the deep end with a 13ft diving well. Home to the Springfield Tigersharks, Springfield Swimming Club is also a founding member of the NVSL (Northern Virginia Swim League), and actively fields both competitive swim and dive teams.

JOB SUMMARY

Come join our team as a part time Pool Manager for the 2024 summer season! We are a seasonal outdoor club - open from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. In this role, you will be the eyes on the ground for operations, and work with the Board of Directors to facilitate a safe and enjoyable experience for our members. This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.

This part time role is approximately 24 hours per week, and flexible scheduling is available.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all aspects of day to day pool operations, including staff scheduling, shift management, equipment operations, and point of sale transactions
• Supervise lifeguards to ensure adherence to safety protocols and excellent customer service
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe pool environment
• Work with the Board of Directors to carry out pool events, such as swim meets or pool parties, ensuring smooth execution and guest satisfaction
• Handle member and guest inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain reports on pool usage, incidents, and maintenance needs
• Conduct regular inspections of the pool area to identify any hazards or maintenance issues

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise a team
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on providing a positive experience for guests
• 3 years of lifeguarding or prior pool management experience preferred
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications prior to season start
• Pool Operations license, preferred
