    The Grand Sierra Resort is seeking a talented and qualified individual to serve as an Assistant Manager for The Pool. In this role, the team member will be responsible for all daily department operations, providing superior customer service to all guests according to the GSR service standards, managing all levels of staff, resolving guest issues appropriately, supporting all other staff and management, and maintaining cleanliness of all areas in accordance with department standards. This role requires a strong knowledge of the GSR resort and its amenities with the ability to promote our various offerings and products at all opportunities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Knowledge and adherence of all GSR and departmental policies and procedures ensuring the highest levels of customer service.
    • Must be well groomed and professional, meeting GSR’s standards of appearance at all times.
    • Communicate with guests professionally, answering questions and offering assistance when possible.
    • Possess a strong attention to detail, maintaining the cleanliness of the bars, pool, and surrounding areas.
    • Responsible for daily scheduling and reports, maintains appropriate staffing levels for business levels making adjustments as needed.
    • Ensure pool and surrounding areas meet department standards and are suitable for guest use. This includes managing all opening, daily, and closing procedures.
    • Responsible for assisting with training and developing all supervisors and staff including coaching and counseling.
    • Responsible for the productivity of staff, delegates tasks and works closely with Managers, Supervisors, and team members to ensure success.
    • Ensure staff is adhering to Health Department standards at all times as well as promoting a neat, clean and organized environment.
    • Provides clear communication and direction keeping staff informed and educated on current department and company initiatives.
    • Attend and participate in all meetings as required, maintain an open line of communication with management relaying relevant information and events.
    • All other duties as assigned by management.
    • 1-2 years previous experience in a supervisory role in the hospitality industry or pool setting preferred.
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
    • Ability to respond to questions effectively and present information clearly and professionally.
    • Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme temperatures, wind, and rain, as well as noise, dust, fumes, etc. associated with a pool environment.
    • Must possess excellent time management, problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks quickly and efficiently. A broad comprehension of revenue management and cost analysis.
    • Must be able to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
    • Must have a strong knowledge of various systems including but not limited to; AS400, Microsoft Office, HOT SOS, Unifocus, and Info Genesis POS.
    • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume outlet ensuring guest satisfaction.
    • Must be able to meet all physical requirements to successfully perform job duties.
    • Provides clear direction, establishes goals and appropriate time frames, manages overall guest satisfaction, and monitors progress to achieve desired results.
    • Any additional requirements to be determined based on the needs of the hotel and or management.
    • Ability to obtain/renew all government-required licenses or certifications for position including an Alcohol Awareness Card and Nevada Gaming Card.
    • Must be able to obtain SERV Safe Certification, American Red Cross Lifeguard & CPR/First Aid for the professional rescuer.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
