Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of insurance policy change technicians to ensure that policy changes and requests are carried out according to established guidelines. Determines action on changes for which a policyholder has applied, but which are not covered by policy provisions, and computes costs or allowances for policy changes. Being a Policy Change Supervisor contacts policy owners and field agents with pertinent information that may affect a policy change. Does not have underwriting approval. Additionally, Policy Change Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. As part of the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living Developmental Disabilities Services Division (DAIL/DDSD), this position, the Program Developmental and Policy Analyst, will provide professional level policy and program development and program evaluation work for the Developmental Disabilities Services Division (DDSD) within the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living.
Work will include ongoing comprehensive review and analysis of national trends and Vermont systems of care, strategic planning for systems change, project development and management, and stakeholder education. This position will interact with staff across the division, department, and Agency of Human Services, and externally with community partners.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Developmental Disabilities Services Division Director and teleworking is an option if approved, with some in-person meetings required.

Four (4) or more years of experience providing developmental disabilities services, including program development in a public or private agency.
Bachelors or higher in social work, public health, sociology, psychology or a related human services field
