Police Sergeant is responsible for supervising patrol officers and agents as assigned and maintaining the chain of command within the operations of the department. Responsible for developing training programs for department personnel, directing special units, preparing special reports or projects as assigned, receiving and reviewing reports from officers, and assigning personnel in accordance to specific needs. Being a Police Sergeant requires a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and/or additional certifications and at least 5-7 years of law enforcement experience. Typically reports to a chief of police, captain, or lieutenant. The Police Sergeant manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. The Executive Assistant to the Police Chief provides high-level administrative support to the Police Chief, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Chief's office. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and discreet professional capable of managing a wide range of administrative responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The Executive Assistant will be a key liaison between the Police Chief and internal/external stakeholders.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Successful candidates are expected to work in Police Headquarters and will be exposed to a variety of police operations, including prisoner handling processes, loud noises, and frequent disruptions. The position may require evening and weekend work in order to maintain workflow with other City Departments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Operates standard office equipment including computers and keyboards, at efficient speed; and moves throughout the Department’s administrative spaces in Police Headquarters and other municipal offices as needed/required. Lifts/moves objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Administrative spaces are not accessible or ADA compliant.
HOURS
Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
SALARY
Starting rate $21.15 – $22.75 per hour
Annual increases up to $27.98 per hour
