Police Records Clerk maintains the records filing system and/or database used to manage, access, and preserve electronic and paper records of criminal justice activities. Assists in providing accurate and clear information to public and other departments. Being a Police Records Clerk may perform other clerical duties including taking photographs, fingerprints, and answering telephone inquiries. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Police Records Clerk typically reports to police sergeant or police lieutenant. The Police Records Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     The Medical Records Clerk is a key member of the Health Information team at Beverly Hospital.

    *Will focus on scanning, Indexing and retrieval of confidential medical records in a timely manner with a focus on accuracy and efficiency

    *Will be converting hardcopy medical record documentation into digitized images and indexing images to correct document types. Will also ensuring medical information is available and accessible for patient care, revenue cycle and third party requests.

    Job Description:

    Position Summary:

    • Processes all requests for medical records accurately, appropriately and expeditiously.

    • Understands terminal digit filing methodology, or equivalent numeric filing system.

    • Scans all paperwork received in Health Information Management accurately, appropriately and expeditiously.

    • Manages paper and record flow in an organized manner.

    • Understands and manages electronic information flow.

    • Understands and uses department computers and healthcare systems in an appropriate and efficient manner.

    • Strictly adheres to state and federal laws on confidentiality of protected health information.

    • Adheres to Department, Hospital and Human Resource Policies.

    • Performs other duties as required and requested.

    • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

    • Knowledge of HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality regulations

    Education/Experience:

    High school graduate or equivalent.

    Previous office experience, health care setting preferred Computer skills

    EPIC experience desirable.
