Assists in providing accurate and clear information to public and other departments. Being a Police Records Clerk may perform other clerical duties including taking photographs, fingerprints, and answering telephone inquiries. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Police Records Clerk typically reports to police sergeant or police lieutenant. The Police Records Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of a certified police academy training program
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to drive and operate a police vehicle safely
- Proficient in surveillance techniques and use of technology for law enforcement purposes
- Knowledge of criminal investigation procedures and techniques
- Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in law enforcement or military service
