Police Records Clerk maintains the records filing system and/or database used to manage, access, and preserve electronic and paper records of criminal justice activities. Assists in providing accurate and clear information to public and other departments. Being a Police Records Clerk may perform other clerical duties including taking photographs, fingerprints, and answering telephone inquiries. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Police Records Clerk typically reports to police sergeant or police lieutenant. The Police Records Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to student records administration in accordance with government and management directives.

    Essential functions:

    • Audit student records documents to ensure they meet data integrity requirements.
    • Prepare and review intake packets. Proofread records or forms including arrival and release files; copy needed information from one record to another as required.
    • Coordinate student transportation arrangements, ensure accountability and return, as appropriate of all transportation documents, and conduct activities to retrieve transportation documents, audit logs, and reports.
    • Perform input and output operations and make adjustments necessary to ensure schedules are met.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • One (1) year of clerical, administrative or related experience, including computer data entry experience is preferred.
    • Must be able to lift up 20 lbs.
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
