Assists in providing accurate and clear information to public and other departments. Being a Police Records Clerk may perform other clerical duties including taking photographs, fingerprints, and answering telephone inquiries. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Police Records Clerk typically reports to police sergeant or police lieutenant. The Police Records Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Job Description
Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson.
Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
Upholds the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the rules and regulations of the Piedmont Virginia Community College.
Provides Police protection of persons and property for the college campus and adjacent or surrounding streets and properties.
Services include response for law enforcement, medical; provided with professionalism and courtesy. Provides law enforcement services by patrol of campus property daily.
Provides information, directions, and assistance to the campus and surrounding community. Enforces all college parking and traffic regulations.
Directs and controls traffic, conducts investigations of vehicular accidents, thefts, first aid events and other incidents as necessary.
This position will work Monday Friday all weekends, and state holidays off. Shifts may vary based on need.
