Police Patrol Officer is responsible for patrolling an assigned area to prevent and discover crime and to enforce regulations. Responsible for responding to calls, taking necessary action at the scene of crime or disturbance, conducting investigations, making arrests, testifying in court, and completing reports/forms and routine paperwork. Being a Police Patrol Officer requires an associate degree in criminal justice and/or additional certifications and at least 12 to 18 months of law enforcement experience. Requires Firearms Certification. Additionally, Police Patrol Officer typically reports to a police sergeant. The Police Patrol Officer works under moderate supervision. Some job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Driving Patrol Vehicle to different service locations
- Respond to service calls
- Arrest where circumstances and conditions warrant such action.
- Answering questions and providing as-needed escort services to members of the public.
- Writing daily reports. Taking photos of service locations (entrances, halls, restrooms, stairwells, etc)
- Doing foot patrol at service locations to ensure everything is clear and safe
- Ability to stand, sit and walk for long periods of time
- Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior
- Observe, report and prevent incidents by providing a physical presence
- Detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
-Must have at least 2 years of experience working as an Armed Security Supervisor
-Locking and unlocking gates and doors as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and premises.
Requirements:
- An up to date Guard Card from the State of California
-BSIS Module B & C Training
-Not using a electronic device while vehicle is in motion
- Driver License
-OC Spray / Baton
- Reliable Transportation
-Oversee and maintain various technical equipment, hardware and software, to ensure it is functioning properly. Update all Devices on a regular schedule. The position will be required to work a varied schedule that may include evenings/nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to able to work on weekends
- Firearm permit if applicable
- Driving Record Report obtained from the DMV website: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/customer-service/request-vehicle-or-driver-records/online-driver-record-request/ to show proof of a clean driving record.
