Job Summary: As a patrol Officer at the North Hampton Police Department, you will be crucial in maintaining law and order in our community. Your responsibilities will include visible law enforcement duties such as patrol and investigations, traffic control, and other tasks to preserve peace, protect life and property in the Town, and enforce State Laws and Town Ordinances. The role requires shift work, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, offering a dynamic and varied work schedule.
Minimum Qualifications Required
· Must be a United States citizen.
· Must be 21 years of age before receiving a conditional offer of employment.
· An associate degree from an accredited college or university, two years of honorable military service, or a full-time Certified Police Officer.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Special Requirements

· Police Officer Certification: Uncertified candidates must be able to obtain police certification within the time frame established by the New Hampshire Police Standards & Training Council and maintain it throughout their tenure of service.
· Tattoo Policy: Candidates are prohibited from having any form of tattoo or brand above the collar line or below the wrists. No tattoos are visible on any portion of the face, neck, or head that is not covered by standard uniform.
· Employment: All uncertified candidates will sign an agreement indicating that they will remain employed with the North Hampton Police Department for at least three (3) years upon completing all training. If they leave before completing three years for another law enforcement agency, they agree to reimburse the Town of North Hampton for their training costs.
· Police Academy: Uncertified candidates must be able to attend and complete the 16-week New Hampshire Police Standards & Training Academy.

· The starting salary for a probationary police officer position, non-certified, is $52,148.00, open to discussions. Officers will be placed at Step 1 after their one-year probationary period of $62,148.00.
