Poker Dealer deals poker, accepts bets, pays winners, and collects from non-winners. Handles player transactions, notifies pit supervisor of any irregularities or disputes that may arise during the game. Being a Poker Dealer may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Poker Dealer may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. I. PURPOSE OF POSITION
Promotes the effective operation of assigned Table Game by providing excellent customer service incoherence with the Nooksack Northwood Casino service culture while maintaining game security and protection.
II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
A. Reports Directly to: Table Games Floor Supervisor
B. Supervises Directly: N/A
C. Other Important Contacts: Shift Supervisor, Table Games Manager, other casino management and employees, and guests.
III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Promote customer service as a priority.
B. Complies with company and department policies and procedures while practicing positive customer and employee relations.
C. Ensures the integrity and productivity of assigned table; by including but not limited to, accurately retrieving and distributing chip/cheques, maintaining a game pace conducive to excellent service and casino profitability, assuring accuracy and legibility of fills, credits, and table opener/closure slips, notifying Floor Supervisor of any unusual play or disputes.
D. May sign fill, credit, and table opener/closure slips.
E. Contacts the Floor Supervisor immediately for their acknowledgement of any large buy-ins and color-ups.
F. Promotes Nooksack Northwood Casino's Winner's Club by, including but not limited to, being knowledgeable of advantages for club members and promotes the advantages to members and non-members, being knowledgeable of and promoting casino and market center special events and promotions, ensuring that members' play is accurately tracked.
G. Provide accurate and timely documentation and reporting of department activities and status is requested.
H. Maintain a professional and neat appearance of work area.
I. Maintain a professional and neat appearance and represent the company in a positive manner.
J. Because of the Casino’s commitment to our guests and customer service, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A. Required:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency and Class III Washington State Gaming Commission licenses.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
3. Demonstrated positive customer service skills.
4. Blackjack Class certificate and/or previous Table Games dealing experience.
5. Demonstrated ability to quickly and accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
B. Preferred:
1. Previous casino experience.
2. Able to deal multiple games.
V. WORKING CONDITIONS
A. May work in a, noisy, crowded, and smoke-filled environment.
B. Will be monitored by surveillance cameras.
C. May be required to work various shifts and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
D. May interact with persons who are angered, intoxicated, or distressed.
VI. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A. Must be able to walk and move throughout assigned shift.
B. Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, twist, and grip.
