Places paper containing identification information on camera grid, exposes film to identify information, develops and dries negative, and then forms printing plate. Being a Platemaker - Offset maintains production records and machines. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Platemaker - Offset typically reports to a supervisor. To be a Platemaker - Offset typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. May be entry level if some experience in the skill.   • Position Summary
    The Cutting Operator runs various machines in the cutting department to a level that meets or exceeds department expectations.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    This position is primarily, yet not exclusively responsible and accountable for the following:
    • Set up and operation of a guillotine paper cutter.
    • Knowledge of bindery equipment a plus.
    • Operating machinery efficiently daily.
    • Ensuring machine-related documentation is completed timely and accurate.
    Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Basic computer knowledge.
    • Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.
    • Have a working knowledge of computer functions for equipment set up and job costing.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions from both written and oral communications. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
