Title of Position: 6 Color 2nd Press Operator / Feeder
Summary Description:
Assist in routine aspects of running a 40 inch multi-color press with guidance of a Lead Press Operator. Assist in make ready of press efficiently and feed paper to keep press running at optimum speed for job assigned.
Duties:
1. Hang plates, remove and gum used plates.
2. Fill ink fountains, mix fountain solution to correct pH, set up dampening system.
3. Load and unload paper.
4. Perform ink wash-ups.
5. Install blankets and packing.
6. Assist in performing routine adjustments during press run.
7. Clean up of equipment as required.
8. Assist with lubrication and basic maintenance of press.
9. Maintain housekeeping and safety requirements for a safe work environment.
10. Inform Lead Press Operator of any problems completing duties..
Qualifications:
Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· High school / trade school printing course helpful.
· Read, write and communicate in English.
Physical & Mental Demands:
· Lifting up to 40 lbs.
· Cannot be colorblind
· Must have correctable eyesight.
· Attention to detail.
Experience:
· Completion of 2 year apprenticeship program for Feeder / 2nd Offset Press Operator.
· Experience in running an Offset Printing Press of similar size and complexity.
