Platemaker creates offset or flexo press plates according to job specifications and established procedures using platemaking, testing and computer equipment. Performs quality inspection of plates to ensure they meet specifications and to identify any imperfections. Being a Platemaker maintains production records according to required protocols. Cleans processing equipment and maintains supply inventory. Additionally, Platemaker follows all required quality and safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Platemaker works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
