Plant Superintendent jobs in New York

Ramsey Constructors Inc. is looking to hire a Construction Superintendent to manage and run field construction operations on sewer and wastewater treatment plant work. Needs to have experience with structural concrete construction, pump, piping, and general treatment plant contracting. Daily responsibilities would include managing crews onsite, setting up subcontractors/ material delivery’s, and sitting in on jobsite meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Drive job site safety and promote safety culture
• Oversee and Coordinate the activities of field employees
• Follow project plans and schedules-Translate general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for the crew
• Check equipment to ensure proper working conditions
• Maintain employee time reporting
• Understand Line & Grade, shoot grade with a level and set up a pipe laser
• Understand Earthwork and Heavy Highway Bridge, Road and Street Construction.

Qualifications:

• Heavy Civil Construction Experience
• General Knowledge of Heavy Equipment operations and maintenance
• Knowledge of pipe laying for water mains, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer; reading and understanding plans and specifications
• the ideal candidate would have prior trench safety and rigging/signaling training, as well as experience with Ductile Iron, Steel, PVC, RCP and HDPE pipe as well as Manhole and Underground Utility Vault Construction.
