Position Summary:

Responsible for the efficient operation of concrete batching plants, ensuring the production of high-quality concrete materials that meet project specifications. You will be responsible for managing plant personnel, optimizing production processes, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Production Oversight:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the concrete batching plant to ensure timely and accurate production of concrete materials.
• Monitor and adjust batch processes to meet quality standards and project specifications.

Personnel Management:

• Lead and manage plant staff, including batch operators, maintenance personnel, and quality control technicians.
• Provide training and support to ensure a skilled and efficient workforce.

Quality Control:

• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that concrete materials meet or exceed industry standards and project specifications.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to conduct regular testing and analysis of concrete mixtures.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of batching plant equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.

Safety Compliance:

• Enforce and promote a strong safety culture within the batch plant, adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.

Inventory Management:

• Manage raw material inventory, including aggregates, cement, and additives, to ensure continuous production and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.

Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to concrete production and batch plant operations.
• Implement environmentally friendly practices where possible.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of production volumes, material usage, and quality control data.
• Generate reports on plant performance, downtime, and efficiency metrics.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Implement efficiency initiatives and technology upgrades to enhance overall plant performance.

Qualifications/Education/Experience

• Proven experience as a Batch Plant Superintendent in heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of concrete production processes and materials.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
• Leadership and personnel management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with USACE concrete production (preferred)
