Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Operations Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Additionally, Plant Operations Manager oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and facilitates labor relations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Job Requirements:

Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
Minimum education of high school or GED; Bachelors degree preferred.
Seven or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, document control systems, and databases.
Preferred Skills:
Training and experience in leading kaizen events.
Six Sigma training is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and provide direction for efficient, uniform operation that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Develop and implement plans to increase reliability and improve quality and efficiency of products/services provided.
Regularly communicate with other departments, shifts, logistics, department DE, and production management on needs, priorities, issues.
Schedule and organize daily production shifts to optimize performance and margin.
Implement Continuous Improvement and Lean tools to reduce work environment variation.
Develop standard work processes. Review work instructions with the goal of standardization.
Coach, mentor, develop team to investigate root cause for scrap/RMA issues; collaborate with site team including engineering/quality for corrective actions/prevent recurrence.
