Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operational activities of a plant or production facility. Develops and manages production schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Operations Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Additionally, Plant Operations Manager oversees staffing and development of all production supervisors and staff and facilitates labor relations. JOB OVERVIEW:
This is a high-level managerial position where the employee is responsible for organizing, directing, controlling, evaluating, and implementing through a functional management team the production operations of high-quality mining accessories, railroad, snowplow, System 2000 Boards, custom machining equipment, fabrication equipment, and drill steel products to ensure adherence to customer specifications.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Secondary School Diploma Required; College/University Degree, A Plus
· Minimum Five (5) Years Supervisory/Managerial Experience Required; or Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience
· Forging/Stamping Experience Preferred
· ISO 9001 Experience, A Plus
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Possess proficient ability to understand instructions and underlying principles of production operations to reason and make judgments to meet deadlines in a high-volume production environment
· Possess proficient organizational skills to develop-implement production schedules to maintain adequate inventory of raw materials and finished products to meet customer demand

· Possess proficient verbal/written communication skills to present information or ideas clearly to personnel at all levels of production operations and senior management

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the plant production operations to ensure adherence to quality standards in the manufacturing of products.
· Develop, implement, and monitor procedures to cost-effectively use materials, labor, and equipment to meet production demands.
· Develop production schedules to maintain a sufficient inventory of raw materials and
· finished products to meet customer demand.
· Develop and coordinate production and quality/safety inspection reporting procedures to facilitate adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
· Develop and coordinate machine/equipment maintenance schedules to facilitate cost-effective product production.
· Hire and supervise training of employees in the use of machines/equipment and production procedures.
· Submit required reporting to senior management.
· Attend corporate training sessions to acquire innovative procedures to maintain competitive edge in production operations.
· Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by senior management.
