UAB Callahan Eye is seeking a Plant Operations Manager. The Plant Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Hospital Operations. The Plant Operations Manager is responsible for Planning, Organizing, Directing, and Controlling the Plant Operations Department. This includes the repair and maintenance of the institution's buildings, grounds, and equipment, as well as the administration of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, encompassing virtually all of the buildings, equipment, and physical plant systems throughout the institution.
This position is responsible for appropriate maintenance agreements, as well as the appropriate operation of the institution's computer-based Energy Management System. The Plant Operations Manager is a working management position, and it is expected that this position will be directly involved in maintenance activities. The Plant Operations Manager is required to prepare an annual budget, establish and maintain adequate control mechanisms to adhere to the budget, and the implementation of appropriate action to correct deviations from budget projections.
