Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Plant Manager typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     •    We offer a competitive salary with a range of $100,000 - $125,000 based on experience and skill set. 
    •    This position is eligible to participate in the Signode annual bonus program with a target of 15% of base salary

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:  

    • Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.  

    • Ensures safety and environmental guidelines are complete and compliance is enforced.    

    • Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the plant by directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities  

    • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner  

    • Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs and downtime through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital  

    • Ensure attainment of business objectives and production schedules that meet or exceed our company's customer expectations  

    • Maintain productivity levels through effective monitoring of staffing levels and financial requirements. - Develop and control profits plans and budget  

    • Manage spending against budget in relations to changes in production volume  

    • Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employee's positive involvement with opportunity for input and action  

    • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives - Provide direction, development and leadership to the entire manufacturing team.    

    • Manage a multiple shift operation.  

      

    Minimum Qualifications:  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Manufacturing  

    • 7 – 10 years of progressive plant/manufacturing management experience  

    • Thorough knowledge of all plant operating processes and equipment, purchasing procedures, safety procedures, governmental regulations and company policies.  

    • Experience in selecting, defining roles, leading/mentoring/motivating a team  

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills along with working knowledge of MS Office  

    • Must be available to respond to emergency situations as needed
