Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Job Summary:
Retail Garden Center Manager needed for busy garden center in Brandywine, Maryland. Must have prior retail managerial experience. Industry experience or equivalent course work preferred. The ideal candidate will be an energetic people person, have strong multitasking skills, and a passion for the great outdoors. In addition to the day-to-day upkeep of the garden center material and grounds, the manager also supervises a staff of 10 – 15 staff members. The retail garden center manager is an outdoor, full-time, year-round position. The garden center is open seven days a week, weekend work required.
