Summary:

The Plant Manager assists the General Manager in overseeing total plant operations, emphasizing superior customer satisfaction by achieving excellence in safety, service, quality, and cost performance.

Major/Key Accountabilities:

• Manage production employees, overseeing schedules based on raw and finished goods availability.
• Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, coaching, and managing employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with established policies and make all employment decisions at the facility.
• Partner with the General Manager to optimize cost and yield performance, aligning with overall Plant profitability.
• Drive cost control initiatives, process improvements, and safety enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, and FD.
• Implement and maintain SOPs, lean practices, and operational best practices.
• Lead recruitment, training, development, evaluation, and motivation of Plant staff.
• Optimize asset utilization through effective transportation scheduling and management.

Scope:

• Budget: $5-20M

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Operations/Supply Chain or related field.
• Six Sigma/Lean certification preferred.

Experience:

• 5 years in a plant supervisory role in engineering or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation beneficial.
• Strong customer focus, people management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience managing safety performance and supply chain practices.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong people management and motivational abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.

Work Environment:

• May include extreme conditions like heat, cold, and air particulate.
• Requires lifting up to 50-75 pounds and physical agility.
• Involves sitting, walking, talking, and hearing.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
• Specific vision abilities needed, including close vision and color vision.
