Plant Manager directs a plant or production facility's overall operations. Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant Manager utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant Manager develops and implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Leads or participates in labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant Manager manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. IDEAL CANDIDATE
Ideal candidate must know and be responsible for the P & L and must be highly experienced with a manufacturing role. It's preferred for a candidate that has experience with plant transformation, building trust and improving culture and morale of a manufacturing plant. This person must have experience with lean manufacturing and holding accountability. Prefer a candidate that has aluminum extrusion experience with a non-union (24/7) facility with at least 500 production/130 salaried employees.
