Plant Maintenance Manager oversees the plans for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Plant Maintenance Manager leads inspection to ensure an effective preventative maintenance procedure and framework. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Plant Maintenance Manager utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Manages spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Plant Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Role:
The Maintenance Manager will coordinate and supervise maintenance repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance activities for the plant including all mobile and stationary equipment and machinery. Uses independent judgment in making decisions regarding plant maintenance and in analyzing unusual maintenance problems and situations. Works under general supervision. Refers to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of the organizational policy is needed. Exercises direct or indirect supervision over all maintenance-related employees. Some of them occupy lower-level and mid-level plant management positions, including the Maintenance Department, Mobile Repair Department, Mechanical, and Electrical Maintenance Departments, and Maintenance Planning Department. Over-site of capital expenditures at the plant level and significant involvement in the preparation and control of plant budgets.
What you’ll be contributing:
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
5 or more years of experience in a cement manufacturing facility with specific exposure to management responsibilities.
Bachelor's Degree with knowledge of Engineering principles and procedures or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Engineering preferred.
