Plant Maintenance Manager oversees the plans for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Plant Maintenance Manager leads inspection to ensure an effective preventative maintenance procedure and framework. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Plant Maintenance Manager utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Manages spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Plant Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The maintenance department at the Clean Harbors, Aragonite facility is comprised of multiple craftsmen. From millwright mechanics to mobile mechanics, to welders. From instrument techs to electricians. We have a place for almost all trades in the industrial maintenance field.
The maintenance department works a 4-10 rotating schedule. An example of this schedule is Monday through Thursday for one month and Tuesday through Friday the following month, rotating each month.
We do not staff the facility 24-7, but we rotate on-call for after-hour emergency repairs. During your on-call week, if you're called out for any reason, you get paid a five-hour minimum and call-out pay is paid out at double time!
We do realize that our facility is not located in the most desirable location. This is why we offer free ride share. We have several 12 and 15-passenger vans located in the Salt Lake, Tooele, and Grantsville areas dedicated to getting you to and from work safely. Also, whether you drive or not, the company pays you "Remote Site Pay" up to four hours each week as a token of our appreciation and understanding of our facility's location.
