Plant Maintenance Manager oversees the plans for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Plant Maintenance Manager leads inspection to ensure an effective preventative maintenance procedure and framework. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Plant Maintenance Manager utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Manages spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Plant Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Maintenance Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Position Summary: The Fixed and Portable Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintenance at fixed and portable plants and managing portable plant out-of-town operations.

    Compensation: Full-time salaried position, with comprehensive employee benefits.

    Reports to: Vice President of Concrete Operations

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain plant reliability and operations within a fixed budget and provide a safe operating environment.
    • Manage department Key Performance Indicators.
    • Oversee repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
    • Approve preventative maintenance programs in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
    • Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
    • Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
    • Support the planning, development and implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effective greater utilization of labor and materials.
    • Oversee predictive maintenance control and development.
    • Conduct root cause analysis of failures.
    • Support the installation of new projects or modification of current assets.
    • Support the generation and authorization of Purchase requisitions and Work Orders.
    • Generate maintenance plans and task lists for equipment in the plants.
    • Review new product plans and discuss equipment needs and modifications with management.
    • Improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
    • Confer with management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
    • Prepare department budget and monitor expenditure of funds.
    • Utilize Maintenance Scheduling/Planning processes, Maintenance KPIs, Maintenance Methodology, Project Management, CMMS: SAP, Personnel Management, Contractor management, Microsoft Office Suite, Cement industry process maintenance, and Corrective, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance to perform duties.
    • Manage the Preventative/Predictive/Corrective Maintenance programs with the maintenance team.
    • Oversee activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Bachelor's degree: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience must include one (1) year use of Maintenance Scheduling/Planning processes.
