East West Staffing, Inc. (EWS) is currently seeking an experienced Quality and Safety Inspector.

Responsibilities of the Quality and Safety Inspector

• Coordinating with field crews, engineers, supervisors, and other professionals to ensure the safety of work sites and work practices.
• Advises contractors of violations and recommends adjustments to work operations.
• Applies vast knowledge of OSP construction methods, practices, and safety guidelines.
• Maintains project notes, which include daily diaries, etc.
• Ability to follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards
• Record daily activities in construction inspector journal.
• Perform site surveys of as-built and proposed projects and complete red-line documentation.
• Identify unsafe actions performed by contractor, record/report to crew Supervisor.
• Perform construction inspections for quality control.
• Effectively communicate corrective actions to subcontractor.
• Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. poles, ladders, and roofs)
• Work with a live crew operation, ensuring proper protocol is being followed.
• Able to assist in the inspection of joint trench, SFU/LDA and MDU, developer provided conduit, backboard and ground, aerial, buried and UG placing of conduit, copper and fiber cable, copper and fiber splicing, Test and TU.

Requirements of the Quality and Safety Inspector

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of N.E.C and N.E.S.C. for communications for outside plant and construction practice and inside and around buildings.
• Previous experience performing inspections or experience working on a cable line crew.
• Previous experience performing wooden pole ground line inspections.
• Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external customers.
• Working knowledge of safe construction practices used in building aerial and underground communications networks
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on short notice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
