Plant Human Resources Manager designs, plans, and implements human resources programs for a plant. Administers corporate policies relating to compensation, benefits, visa/green card processing, employee relations, training, and health and safety programs. Being a Plant Human Resources Manager may be responsible for negotiating collective bargaining agreements. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Plant Human Resources Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Plant Human Resources Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree in human resources- or professional human resources experience that may substitute on a year for year basis for the required degree. 3 years of professional human resources experience, one of which must have been in an administrative/supervisory capacity. PHR, SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred. Must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task. Excellent communication, team building, conflict resolution, customer service skills and proficient computer program/application skills required. Knowledge of the principles of personnel administration. Knowledge of various HR program functions such as recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, employee benefits, and employer/employee relations. Knowledge of conflict resolution. Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Responsible for the coordination of the firm’s personnel operations. Provides HR program development, improvement and evaluation. Formulates HR program policies and procedures. Provides technical assistance regarding human resource issues. Compiles and analyzes data for administrative decisions. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
